Art Society of Inverness

Christmas Market at WASPS

WASPS Christmas Market at Inverness Creative Academy, Friday 29th November - Sunday 1st December 2024

The Society has booked a stall and a limited amount of hanging space at the WASPS Christmas Market being held on:

  • Friday 29th November (4pm - 8pm)
  • Saturday 30th November (10am- 4pm) and
  • Sunday 1st December (10am- 4pm)

This is an opportunity for members to sell:

·      small framed paintings or boxed canvasses

·      mounted prints/original work

·      cards

There is no charge for submission but the Art Society will take 10% commission on all sales.

A maximum of 8 art works (prints, original works/small framed paintings) and 50 cards can be submitted.

Paintings

Paintings must be your original work and either framed or on box canvas and no more than 30cm in any direction.

They must all be capable of being hung although they may be displayed on tabletop easels. We have limited space so we cannot guarantee that all paintings will be displayed at the same time. Paintings must have a label firmly stuck on the back with title, artist and price clearly marked.

Mounted Prints/Originals

These must be no larger than A2 size and must be supplied in a cellophane wrapper with title, artist and price clearly marked, they will be displayed for sale in a browser.

Cards

Members may submit up to 50 greetings cards for sale. These should be packaged with envelopes in a cellophane bag or paper wrapper. The artist’s name and price must be clearly visible. Prices should be in units of 50p e.g. £2, £2.50, £3, £3.50 etc. Cards must be delivered in a smart box or basket for display.

General Points

Cards and artwork must be delivered to Wasps between 2 pm and 3.30 pm on Friday 29th November and must be accompanied by the attached delivery note. Collection is on Sunday 1st December no earlier than 4pm.

As we will have very little time to put the sales table and display together and to then take everything away, these are the only delivery and collection of unsold work arrangements.

Pricing is entirely up to each member, but given that we are anticipating that the Market is aimed at people buying Christmas gifts, you may want to consider paintings being in the region of a maximum price of £30 - £50.
